What a cleaning and checkup actually costs in Jacksonville
Search this question and you'll find a wall of dental offices, none of which will tell you a number. 'Call for pricing.' 'Free consultation.' '$59 new-patient special*' with an asterisk doing heavy lifting. We think that's backwards, so here is our founding fee schedule, published before we've even opened our doors: an adult cleaning is $105, a child's cleaning is $79, a periodic exam is $60, and four bitewing X-rays are $65. A brand-new patient's first visit — comprehensive exam ($95), full-mouth X-ray series ($135), and cleaning ($105) — totals $335, and you can do that math yourself before you ever walk in.
Why do quotes at other offices swing from $59 to $900 for 'a cleaning'? Because 'cleaning' can mean four different procedures depending on your gum health, and because offices that don't publish prices have no reason to keep them predictable. Below is exactly what moves the number up or down — and what happens to it when a membership makes the routine visits $0.

What moves the price up or down
- First visit vs. returning patient
- A new patient gets a comprehensive exam ($95) instead of a periodic one ($60), plus a full-mouth X-ray series ($135) that's only repeated every 3–5 years. After that first visit, the routine recall is dramatically cheaper — $165 for cleaning plus exam.
- Whether X-rays are due
- Bitewings ($65 for four) are typically taken about once a year, not every visit. A panoramic X-ray ($120) is added only when there's a reason. If nothing is due, nothing is billed — the kiosk knows your history, so you're never re-X-rayed out of habit.
- The health of your gums
- This is the big one. Healthy gums mean the standard $105 cleaning. Early inflammation may call for a gingivitis cleaning at $160. Established gum disease requires deep cleaning at $250 per quadrant — usually two to four quadrants over more than one visit — followed by $140 maintenance cleanings. Each step gets a written quote first.
- Adult or child
- A child's cleaning is $79 versus $105 for adults, and fluoride varnish is $45. On the child membership ($25/month), the cleaning, exams, routine X-rays, and fluoride at every visit are all included.
- Membership vs. pay-per-visit
- The $39/month adult plan turns cleanings, exams, and routine X-rays into $0 line items and adds a whitening touch-up every visit, plus 15–25% off everything else on the schedule. The first 500 members lock the same plan at $29/month for life.
The membership math
Take a typical year of routine care at founding-schedule prices: two cleanings ($105 × 2 = $210), two exams ($60 × 2 = $120), one set of bitewings ($65), and two whitening touch-ups — about $550 all in. The adult membership costs $468 a year ($39 × 12) and every one of those items is included, so the routine year alone puts you ahead before any 15–25% member discount on other work. A Founding 500 member pays $348 a year ($29 × 12) for the identical plan — roughly $200 under the pay-per-visit total, every year, for life.
Questions, answered plainly
What will my first visit cost with no insurance?
$335 if you're due for everything: $95 comprehensive exam + $135 full-mouth X-rays + $105 cleaning. If you bring recent X-rays from a previous office, that middle number can drop out entirely. The one thing that changes the total is gum disease — and if that's found, you get the revised plan priced in writing before anyone proceeds.
Why is your cleaning $105 when I've seen '$59 new patient special' ads?
Those specials are priced to get you in the chair, not to describe your visit. The pattern is well documented: the $59 covers a limited exam, and the actual cleaning — often upgraded to a $400+ 'periodontal' version — appears once you're sitting down. Our number is the whole number. If your visit needs more than a routine cleaning, you'll see why on your own X-rays and get the price in writing first.
My last office quoted me $1,000 for 'a cleaning.' Is that real?
It can be — if it wasn't a cleaning but scaling and root planing for gum disease. At our fees, four quadrants of deep cleaning run $1,000 ($796 for members), split across visits. What shouldn't happen is that number arriving without an explanation. Ask to see the pocket-depth measurements; any honest office will show you.
How does the membership math compare to dental insurance?
Typical individual dental insurance in Florida runs $30–$50 a month and still carries deductibles, waiting periods, and annual maximums. The membership is $39 flat (or $29 founding), covers 100% of routine cleanings, exams, and X-rays from day one, and can't deny a claim — because there are no claims. For anyone paying for their own plan, the comparison usually isn't close.
Are these 2026 prices final?
They're our founding fee schedule — real numbers we're committing to publicly before opening in September 2026, with the final schedule locking at opening. Whatever the schedule says when you visit is what you pay, confirmed in writing before treatment starts. No same-day surprises, ever.
Come in when it works for you.
We open September 2026 in the Ponte Vedra–Nocatee corridor. Founding members lock $29/month for life — cleanings, exams, X-rays, and a whitening touch-up with every visit.
