What a root canal really costs in Jacksonville

Root canal pricing is where Jacksonville dental websites go quiet. You'll find soothing paragraphs about comfort and technology, then a form to request a consultation — because the number only appears once you're already invested. We publish ours instead: $850 for a front tooth, $950 for a premolar, $1,150 for a molar on the founding fee schedule we'll open with in September 2026. Members pay $680, $760, and $920. These figures went up before our doors did, precisely so you could read them at 2am with an aching jaw and zero patience for phone tag.

The number most offices really hide isn't the root canal anyway — it's everything around it. Molars usually need a crown afterward ($1,250, member $999), and a badly broken-down tooth may need a core buildup first ($295 / $236). Quoted separately, weeks apart, those read like surprise charges. Quoted together in one signed total before treatment starts — our standing rule — they're simply the honest cost of saving a tooth, known before anyone picks up an instrument.

What moves the price up or down

Which tooth is infected
A front tooth typically has a single canal; molars carry three or four. Each canal gets cleaned, shaped, and sealed, so the fee tracks the actual work: $850 front tooth, $950 premolar, $1,150 molar. Same procedure — repeated more times inside the same tooth.
The crown that usually follows
A treated molar is more brittle and almost always needs a crown to keep it from cracking — $1,250, or $999 for members. Front teeth often skip this step entirely. The call is made at diagnosis and the crown, if needed, goes into your written total from day one, not into a later invoice.
Core buildup
When decay or an old filling has hollowed out too much of the tooth, it needs structural rebuilding before a crown can seat — $295 ($236 member). Not every tooth needs it; yours either will or won't, and you'll know before treatment, not after.
How the problem was found
If pain brought you in, the emergency exam is $75 — credited toward same-day treatment and $0 for members — with the diagnostic X-ray at $35. Diagnosis is deliberately not a profit center here; it's the part that has to be cheap for honesty to work.
Membership pricing
Any Restoro plan takes 20% off endodontics: the molar drops from $1,150 to $920. Adult membership is $39/month with no waiting periods, and the first 500 members lock $29/month for life — with cleanings, exams, and X-rays already included.
Complexity that belongs with a specialist
A minority of teeth — unusually curved or calcified canals, some retreatments — are genuinely endodontist territory, at the specialist's own fees. We tell you that at diagnosis, while you've spent nothing beyond the exam, instead of discovering it mid-procedure.

The membership math

The most common serious case is a molar needing both the root canal and a crown: $1,150 + $1,250 = $2,400 at standard founding fees. A member pays $920 + $999 = $1,919 — $481 less. A Founding 500 membership costs $348 for the entire year ($29 × 12), so this single tooth pays for the membership and leaves $133 to spare, while the plan keeps covering your cleanings, exams, X-rays, and a whitening touch-up at every visit for the other twelve months.

Questions, answered plainly

Why does a molar cost $300 more than a front tooth?

Canal count. A front tooth usually has one canal to clean, shape, and seal; a molar has three or four, each demanding the same careful sequence, which is also why molar appointments get the longer end of our 60–90 minute treatment block. The price follows the anatomy — not the zip code, and not what an insurer will tolerate.

Isn't pulling the tooth the cheaper option?

This week, yes — a simple extraction is $195. Over the following years, the empty space usually costs more: neighboring teeth drift, and replacing the tooth with an implant, abutment, and implant crown totals $4,050 on our schedule ($3,240 member), versus $2,400 for the root canal plus crown that keeps your own tooth. We put both totals side by side and let you choose — sometimes extraction genuinely is the right call, and we'll say so.

Will my dental insurance cover a root canal at Restoro?

We open as a fee-for-service studio, and credentialing paperwork with major insurers — Delta Dental, Cigna, MetLife, Humana — gets filed the day our lease signs; that process typically runs 90–150 days, and we'll publish network status as it firms up. Meanwhile the published price is your worst case, and membership discounts start immediately, with none of the waiting periods insurance plans impose.

What else could show up on the bill besides the root canal itself?

Only published lines, all visible before you commit: emergency exam $75 (credited toward same-day treatment), X-ray $35, core buildup $295 if your tooth needs rebuilding, crown $1,250 if it needs protecting. The signed total is the bill. If the diagnosis changes mid-treatment, work pauses until you approve new numbers — line items don't materialize on their own.

I can't swing the full treatment this month. What does just getting out of pain cost?

Palliative pain relief is $125 ($100 member) and a temporary filling is $150 ($120). Both are bridges, not cures — an infected canal doesn't heal itself — and the dentist will tell you plainly how long a bridge can safely hold in your specific case. The $75 emergency exam is credited toward treatment whenever you're ready to complete it.

Come in when it works for you.

We open September 2026 in the Ponte Vedra–Nocatee corridor. Founding members lock $29/month for life — cleanings, exams, X-rays, and a whitening touch-up with every visit.
