What a tooth extraction actually costs in Jacksonville

Try to price a tooth extraction in Jacksonville and you'll hit the same wall everywhere: 'every case is different, come in for a consult.' Every case is different — and yet every office has a fee schedule sitting in its software with an exact number for yours. They just won't show it to you, because a patient who knows the price walks in with leverage. Here is ours, published before our doors even open: a simple extraction is $195, a surgical extraction is $325, an impacted wisdom tooth runs $425 if it's held only by soft tissue and $625 if it's fully in bone.

Which category your tooth lands in isn't a judgment call made mid-procedure — it's read off an X-ray before you agree to anything, and the number is confirmed in writing before the anesthetic goes in. If the imaging shows the tooth could be saved instead, you'll see the root canal price ($850–$1,150) next to the extraction price and make the call yourself. Below: exactly what moves an extraction bill up or down, and what happens to the math when membership takes 20% off every one of those figures.

What moves the price up or down

How the tooth has to come out
A tooth that's intact and accessible lifts out as a simple extraction — $195. One that's broken at the gumline, has curved roots, or needs to be sectioned to remove safely is a surgical extraction at $325. The X-ray decides the category before the quote, so the price can't 'upgrade' while you're numb.
Wisdom-tooth impaction depth
The $200 gap between impaction fees is anatomy: $425 when the tooth sits under gum tissue only, $625 when bone has to be removed to reach it. A panoramic image sorts each tooth individually — four wisdom teeth can land in four different categories, and each gets its own line on the written quote.
The imaging your case needs
A panoramic X-ray is $120 and covers most extraction planning. Teeth sitting near the nerve canal or sinus sometimes warrant a 3D cone-beam scan at $250 ($199 for members) so the surgical plan is built on real geometry. Members pay $0 for routine X-rays, including the panoramic.
Whether you're preserving the site for an implant
If a future implant is even a maybe, a $450 bone graft placed into the socket at the same visit ($360 for members) keeps the bone from shrinking while you decide. Skipping it saves money today and can cost more later in added grafting — we'll show you which situation yours is before the extraction.
How you arrive: planned visit or emergency
Arriving in pain adds a $75 emergency exam — which is then credited toward same-day treatment, so triage doesn't stack on top of the fix. It's $0 for members. What arriving late really costs is category drift: teeth that wait tend to migrate from the $195 column toward the $325 one.
Membership
Every extraction code drops 20% for members: $156 simple, $260 surgical, $340 and $500 for impactions — plus $0 exams and routine X-rays around the procedure. Adult membership is $39/month; the first 500 members lock $29/month for life.

The membership math

One soft-tissue impacted wisdom tooth, new patient, no insurance. Pay-per-visit: $95 comprehensive exam + $120 panoramic X-ray + $425 extraction = $640. As a member: $39 for the month, exam $0, X-ray $0, extraction $340 — $379 all-in, $261 kept. Scale it to all four wisdom teeth at soft-tissue depth and the gap widens: $1,700 in extractions versus $1,360 at member pricing — that single procedure pays for roughly eight months of membership before counting the free exams, X-rays, and cleanings the plan includes anyway.

Questions, answered plainly

What do all four wisdom teeth cost together?

Sum the per-tooth categories off your panoramic image: all four at soft-tissue depth is 4 × $425 = $1,700; all four in bone is 4 × $625 = $2,500; mixed cases land between. Members pay $1,360–$2,000 for the same range. You get one written quote covering all four before deciding — compare that with the $3,000–$4,000 figures commonly quoted around Jacksonville once consult fees and mystery line items pile on.

Why do extraction quotes in Jacksonville swing from $150 to $700 for 'the same tooth'?

Because 'extraction' spans four procedures, and offices that don't publish fees can slide your tooth between categories with nobody checking. A $150 teaser usually describes the simplest case; your invoice describes yours. Our fix is procedural: category assigned from the X-ray, in writing, before treatment — so the number you research is the number you pay.

Will dental insurance cover an extraction here?

We open fee-for-service, so you pay the published fee and we file out-of-network claims for you — many PPO plans reimburse a meaningful share of extractions after their deductible. Run both paths: insurance reimbursement on a $325 surgical extraction versus the member price of $260 with no deductible, no waiting period, and no claim to argue about. For anyone buying their own dental plan, membership usually wins.

What does replacing the tooth cost afterward?

The honest full picture: an implant runs $4,050 across its stages — $1,950 placement, $650 abutment, $1,450 crown — spread over several months, minus 20% for members. A temporary flipper is $650 while you decide. Not every extracted tooth needs replacing, and we'll tell you plainly when yours doesn't — but you should see these numbers before the extraction, not after.

Are these 2026 numbers locked?

They're the founding fee schedule — published now, before opening in September 2026, with the final schedule locking when we open. Whatever the schedule shows on your visit date is what you pay, confirmed in writing before treatment starts. The founding framing is the commitment: we put the prices up before we had a single patient to lose.

Come in when it works for you.

We open September 2026 in the Ponte Vedra–Nocatee corridor. Founding members lock $29/month for life — cleanings, exams, X-rays, and a whitening touch-up with every visit.
